This paper first introduces the working principle and application advantages of progressive cavity pumps (PCPs), which are widely deployed in transporting thick, abrasive and shear-sensitive fluids (such as sludge, paste and drilling mud) due to their unique helical rotor-stator structure. However, the high-precision interference fit between the metal rotor and rubber stator causes severe friction and wear during continuous operation, making standardized maintenance essential to avoid premature equipment failure, costly downtime and production process interruptions.
